Tonraq is a character in The Legend of Korra series. He is a waterbender and the chief of the Southern Water Tribe. Tonraq is the also the husband of Senna, father of Korra and brother of Unalaq.
- Senraq - Tonraq and Senna
Tonraq met Senna when he moved to the Southern Water Tribe following his banishment. They eventually fell in love and got married. Tonraq and Senna just wanted to have one child and settle down with a simple life. They had a daughter named Korra but she ended up being the next Avatar. This was discovered when she was around four years old and was already able to bend three of the four elements. Tonraq and Senna were then forced to give up on living a simple life.
Tonraq has some popularity among the fans. He did not have a large role in Book One and nobody thought that there was really anything to him besides being the father of the Avatar. However, Book Two revealed a lot of new information, including him being from the Northern Water Tribe and being banished from there. This got a lot of attention from the fans. Some fans also took to calling him "Dadraq" once he was shown protecting his daughter in Book Three.
KorraKorra is the only daughter of Tonraq and Senna. She is the current avatar and successor of Avatar Aang. Korra was a bending prodigy and was able to bend water, earth and fire by the time that she was four years old. Korra always had trouble with air, but she eventually learned it as well after temporarily losing her bending in Republic City. Korra is also the last avatar of the first cycle and the first of the second cycle because Raava was temporarily extracted from her and destroyed, and while she managed to save Raava and recombined with her, her connection to her past lives was forever lost.
- Tonraq seems to have similarities to both Iroh and Zuko, as he had his birthright usurped by his younger brother and was banished from him home though he still eventually became a leader anyway.
