Gregrose is the non-binary ship between Greg Universe and Rose Quartz from the Steven Universe fandom.
Canon[]
In "Laser Light Canon", Steven asks Greg Rose's cannon is, he takes Steven to his shed. He starts to tell Steven how no one showed up to his concert expect his mother, Rose, and explains how they were always together, until, she gave up her physical form so she could bring Steven into the world. He says he doesn't know what a magic lady like her saw in him. Steven accidentally breaks a photo of Greg and Rose, Greg doesn't mind and tells Steven (If every pork chop were perfect, we wouldn't have hotdogs). Steven found the cannon that Rose gave him. No one knows how to use it, until, Steven says Greg's quote and it gets activated, Rose made the key Greg's quote. Greg looks at the sky and says "Rose...", he cries and wipes his tears away.
In "Lion 3: Straight to Video, Lions mane contains Rose's Mr. Universe shirt, the photo of her and Greg and a video she made with Greg for Steven. In the video, Rose is recording Greg being silly, she tells him to talk about himself and tells Rose to press an effect button. She tells Steven to take care of them, referring to Greg and Crystal Gems. Greg calls Rose over and she comes to him, he touches her belly and it ends with them kissing, however it gets cut.
In "Maximum Capacity", Greg finds the photo of him and Rose that Steven accidentally broke. He is a bit saddened but he realizes its just the frame and it isn't a big deal. Amethyst gets mad when Greg wants to be there for Steven, she says she had someone who was there for her until she started hanging out with him, and says he would stay for her. This causes her to shapeshift into Rose, this hurts Greg and he tries to look away, Steven stops them.
In "Story for Steven", it is shown that Greg reframed the photo of him and Rose. Greg tells Steven the story of how he met his mother (including Marty) after Steven spots a picture, in the flashback, Greg is playing the guitar and Rose is the only one in the concert; she starts to clap after it is over. He thanks her for coming and suggests for her to check out the merch table, Rose grabs a CD (space train to the cosmos) and reads it out; Greg starts to sing the lyrics causing Rose to giggle. She asks how he'll get back to Earth, he states he is never coming back to Earth. Rose says that it is awful and that Earth is his home, Greg asks her if she wants it and that it comes with a free shirt. Greg suggests that she would need bigger one and looks for one in his van and tells her to stay where she is.
However, when he gets the shirt, Rose is gone. Greg starts looking for Rose, he asks an owl (Amethyst) if he had seen anyone around with pink hair and Amethyst says she sure has, Greg is disturbed but asks where. Amethyst jokes around with him causing him to follow her. Amethyst tells Pearl he was asking about Rose, Greg runs to them. When Garnet is about to throw Greg off the fence, Rose tells them to wait; she is surprised to see Greg. Rose jumps and floats down to help him up, she asks if he is alright, when Greg touches her hand his eyes light up and they make eye contact, Rose tells the other gems about him and how she couldn't help herself from listening to his song. Greg responds with how no one can ignore him and gives her the shirt, Rose thanks him and tells the gems his gimmick is space. When Greg realizes Marty needs him, he tells the gems he should go. Rose tells him to hurry and he shouldn't miss his space train to the cosmos. Greg agrees and wishes for the stars to align so he and Rose can meet again; Rose is sure they will. He waves goodbye to the gems and leaves.
Greg tells Marty that he cannot stop thinking about Rose, Marty appears to be annoyed when he talks about Rose. Marty tells him that soon he will have everything he wants, Greg asks what if he goes back and want to be with Rose, Marty tells him that no one cares about his feelings. Greg drives the van back to see Rose, he knocks on the door and asks if she is there as he can play for her now. He plays the song he revamped for her and says that this is for her. Rose opens the door; she is seen wearing the Mr. Universe shirt, she asks him to go away, he gets embarrassed and blushes. She tells him that he is awfully cute and she really wants to play with him but his life is short and he has dreams; she won't let him give up on everything he wants. Greg tells her that it's going to be a problem while looking down, Rose is confused and then he looks up and tells her "You're everything I want!". Rose's eyes turn into stars and she starts to laugh.
Steven teases Greg about loving Rose, he says he owes Marty a lot and puts the photo of him and Marty photo next to the photo of him and Rose.
In "We Need to Talk", when Steven and Connie fuse Greg is shocked, Greg starts to tell a story of him and Rose, he shows them a video. In the video, they are playing a song; Greg and Rose are singing together and Greg goes a bit closer to Rose. Greg stares at Rose in confusion when she says "I hadn't planned on finding you, quite this entertaining." When Pearl and Rose fuse, Greg is amazed and cannot believe he caught that on camera, Rose tells him about fusion and tells him that it was pretty cool then kisses him.
Rose has to go but asks if Greg is doing anything later, he tells her he isn't, she calls him adorable and leaves. Pearl tells Greg that he is just a phase and tells him that he doesn't know anything about Rose, he tells her that he knows that she is super into him. Pearl tells him that the only reason that Rose finds him charming is because he is a human. She calls him a novelty and tells him it is because he cant fuse; fusion is the ultimate connection between gems and he is not a gem. He asks if any human tried to fuse, Pearl is stunned and says she doesn't think so. Greg says he will try fusing with Rose, he practices trying to fuse and Garnet and Amethyst try to help him.
Greg gets dressed up and plays music for the event, Rose questions what all of this is, Greg starts to dance with her, hoping that they will fuse. He turns on the lights, Rose looks amazed and he stands on a stereo and kisses Rose passionately, Rose is surprised and her eyes turn into stars, however, Greg is disappointed that they did not fuse.
Rose laughs hysterically and tells him he cannot fuse, he is just a human, Greg tells her he knows and that is the problem. Rose tells him it is not a problem and that she loves human, they are all so funny, Greg seems saddened and tells that the last few months have been great but he is worried about the future, he has the feeling she doesn't respect him. Rose just tells him to ask Garnet and just laughs and calls him hilarious when he says he feels like she does not respect him, he kept trying to get her attention but she kept laughing. Until, he finally asks " Can you just, TALK TO ME FOR ONE SECOND, LIKE A REAL PERSON?!
Rose stops and stares at him, she tells him that she is not a real person, she is confused and asks if this isn't how it works, Greg realizes that she really is an alien and starts to cry and laugh, Rose asks why he is doing that and he asks her how they're gonna make this work, she thinks he is talking about fusion but he is talking about their relationship, they are very different. Rose asks what they should do, Greg suggests for them to just talk. They hug and talk about their relationship and talk love. Greg says that it is torture, Rose asks if this is torture and he jokes saying the worst. He tells her not to be, which confuses both of them. Rose tries to make them feel better by saying at least they have something in common. Rose carries Greg; they spin and laugh.
Fanon[]
This one the canon ships in the fandom. This ship is fairly popular, however, some fans prefer Pearlrose over it. Some dislike this ship and claim Rose treated Greg like a toy and badly. Some defend this ship saying that Rose genuinely loved Greg and loved him for his personality not because he was a human. Fans often joke about how Greg managed to pull a girl like Rose and imagine him dating the other diamonds in alternate universes.
Many fans like to headcanon that Greg knew that Rose Quartz was Pink Diamond and that she told him, this is proven to be false however.
