NaruHina is the het ship between Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyūga from the Naruto fandom.

Canon

Naruto

Naruto and Hinata have known each other since they were kids, but not so much; Naruto only saw her as timid and weird. He was the class clown who had a dream of becoming Hokage one day, and only Hinata, Iruka, and Sasuke had respect for him. She liked to watch him practice in secret. When they graduated from the academy, they were placed on separate teams despite Hinata's hopes.

During the first stage of the Chūnin Exam, Naruto and Hinata were placed next to each other. Hinata offered to let Naruto cheat off of her, but he decided that he did not want her to get in trouble. Later, during some preliminary elimination rounds, Hinata watched Naruto battle her teammate Kiba and cheered for him. Naruto later watched Neji beat up Hinata and call her a failure. This angered him, and he vowed to avenge her. Naruto later told Hinata that he thought she was odd but that he always liked girls like her. He managed to beat Neji in battle, though Hinata passed out while watching.

Naruto eventually left the village with Jiraiya in order to train to become stronger and bring Sasuke back.

Naruto: Shippūden

Two and a half years later, Naruto finally returned, Hinata was so shy that she passed out when he approached her. When Pain invaded Konoha, he was about to finish off Naruto until Hinata arrived in an attempt to save him. She confessed her love to him before being knocked out and seemingly killed. Naruto was enraged and immediately went into his six-tails form, which eventually progressed into a partial transformation. However, Hinata ended up being saved by Sakura who could tell that she loved him.

Naruto and Hinata later battled side-by-side on the battlefield during the Fourth Shinobi World War. Naruto protected Hinata from some White Zetsus, and Hinata attempted to shield Naruto from a fatal blow by Obito Uchiha, but Neji jumped in front of them and was killed. She reminded him not to let his death be in vain, and they held hands while Naruto transferred Chakra to all of his allies. Hinata is later caught in the Infinite Tsukuyomi and dreams of dating Naruto, but is eventually freed after the battle ends.

After the Fourth Shinobi World War, Naruto and Hinata along with everyone in Konoha attended a mass funeral for the people who have fallen during the war. Both Naruto and Hinata are seen standing close to each other as they grieve their fallen comrades.

Blank Period

In the Kakashi Hiden: Lightning in the Icy Sky

A year after the war, Naruto has began spreads rumors about Kakashi's relationship with Kahyō. Hinata pretend to regard with Kakashi with disgust until Kakashi hits Naruto when he found out that he was the source of the rumors causing Hinata to actually regard Kakashi with disgust.

The Last

During The Last: Naruto the Movie, two years after the war with the Rinne Festival approaches, Hinata decide to confess her feelings for Naruto by knitting him a scarf to replace the destroyed scarf that he gave her when they were children when Naruto defended her when a couple of kids were bullying her. Hinata finishes the scarf but is struggling to bring herself to him, Sakura and Hanabi gave her some words of encouragement.

Hinata finds Naruto at Ichiarku Ramen by she gets intimated and uncomfortable by many of Naruto's admires causing her to run away with embarrassment, which lead him to chase after her. Naruto finds her near his home, Hinata finds Naruto to be wearing a scarf the he cherishes. Hinata believes that she lost her chance to be with him (unknowing that the scarf he's wearing his from his mother that he wears as a memento to her) she runs off. After nearly being captured by Toneri, Naruto battles with Toneri's puppets and during the battle the scarf that Hinata made for him was damaged and was ripped in half. After Toneri kidnaps Hanabi, Naruto and Hinata along with Sakura, Shikamaru, and Sai join apart of a team to rescue her.

While searching for her they found the Kunai she dropped they go to a underground passage that put trapped them in genjutsu that brought up old memories. The scarf that Hinata made wrap around Naruto making her memories flood into his memories causing him to remember a moment during the Chūnin Exams of Naruto's battle with Kiba and his battle with Pain where she confessed her love to him, the genjutsu also brought another memory where she wrote his name on her paper in the Academy where she chose Naruto to be with if the world was coming to an end.

The genjutsu also flood Hinata's feelings for him into his where Naruto finally understands her feelings for him, after being broken out of the genjutsu by Sakura to continue ahead with the mission. Hinata was held back by a Toneri puppet, later Naruto interrupts them destroyed the puppet. After rejoin with the others they found a civilization with in the moon. The team split up to explore the landscape with Naruto spending more time with her. Naruto displays a greater interest in her thoughts and well-being such when she got a spider web in her hair and he picks it out making her blush, with pleasing her giving her a greater resolve to complete the scarf. They later find out about Toneri's plan to orchest the moon to fall down to Earth. They also hear that a puppet called Hinata the "Byakugan Princess". and is shown a vision with to told them that it was nothing. Later that night, Hinata went to repair the scarf she made for Naruto while she's repairing the scarf Naruto approaches her. They talk for a bit,  and Naruto confesses to Hinata which shocks her. The team split up to explore the landscape with Naruto spending more time with her. While at castle Hinata sleeps and Toneri reads her mind only to see that she's only thinking about Naruto, much to his confusion and jealousy, later makes another scarf for Naruto but when she tired to destroy the Teseigan energy vessel Toneri destorys the second scarf that she was trying to make for Naruto.

During the time Hinata was at the castle, Naruto for three days had around-the-clock medical attention from Sakura as he a injured when he tried to stop Hinata from going Toneri. After being place under Toneri's mind control and a picture frame, Hinata shreds a tear over her regret about her "betraying" Naruto. During that time when Sakura was healing, Naruto mutters Hinata's name, and Sakura notes that he finally realized his feelings for her.

Prior before Toneri and Hianta's wedding and after Naruto waking up, Naruto while distraught believing that there was no reason to go if Hinata had chosen Toneri. But Sakura reassured him that Hinata couldn't really have any feelings for Toneri and that she loves him very much, and believing the reason for her doing what she did. After some time for Naruto's strength to returned, Naruto made a vow to save Hinata and for her to wait for him. While the infiltration to Toneri's castle Naruto used Sage Mode to locate Hinata.

Naruto soon made it in time to interrup Toneri and Hinata's wedding ceremony. Hinata while under Toneri's control was sent to fight Naruto, Hinata would throw a series of punches and kicks at Naruto, but he would dodge them all. He would later break Hinata out of his control, the scarf that was destoryed by Toneri. After Hinata apologizes to Naruto for her earlier behaviour, the two of them made their escape to destroy the Tenseigan. They soon later found the energy vessel and together they combined Naruto's rasengan with Hinata's Eight Trigrams Twin Lions Crumbling Attack creating the Gentle Step Spiralling Twin Lion Fists destory the vessel. After destorying the Tenseigan energy vessel they met up with the others, while trying to flee the castle but they a furious Toneri who appeared and separted them from the group and recaptured Hinata.

While being in a giant bird cage Hinata watched as Naruto and Toneri's fighting with each other. When Toneri split the moon Hinata thought that Toneri defeated Naruto but was mistaken as he appeared out of the ground with multiple shadow clones and used one final attack to stop Toneri's control over the moon and at the same time free Hinata. Toneri in one final attempt to destroy the earth tries to absorb Naruto's charka nearly killing him but Hinata saves him by using the Chakra Transfer Technique to save him. After Naruto saves Toneri from floating up into space and then showing Toneri the Ōtsutsuki Clan tomb. While leaving the moon Hinata asks him about his scarf, and Naruto reveals that the scarf he was wearing was from his mother. Hinata felt that she was being silly for nothing. As the two leave the cave hand to hand as the two run past versions of them are seen running with hand and head before the two leave the cave. As Naruto used a Rasengan to propel them to escape from the cave they flew up into the sky where they shared their first kiss.

The Beast that was Shot by Love!!

While Kiba and Akamaru go on a walk, Naruto and Hinata are seen on a date and described as being "really suited to be with each other".

Sakura Hiden: Thoughts of Love, Riding Upon a Spring Breeze

After the mission on the moon, Naruto and Hinata became an official couple, and the news of their relationship spread like wildfire. A few months later, they would go out for their first date. Naruto learned that men are supposed to pay. Naruto couldn't take Hinata to a fancy restaurant due to the prices being expensive. Hinata uses her Byakugan to look inside his wallet and finds out that he doesn't have much money. Hinata asks Naruto if they could eat at Ramen Ichiraku which relieves him and he agrees. And the two would have their first date at Ichiraku. While out on their date they ran into Sakura. Sensing that she was overworking herself they invited her to join them but she declined. Later, they would learn Sakura was captured by Kido Tsumiki leading them to join Kakashi to rescue her. However, upon finding Sakura they discovered that she already defeated Kido, prompting them to congratulate her on her victory.

Konoha Hiden: The Perfect Day for a Wedding

On the day of their wedding, Naruto and Hinata held their wedding ceremony held at Hokage Rock. They would later take each other's arm and held them together as they walked down the aisle.

Sasuke Shinden: Book of Sunrise

During the incident with the exploding humans, Hinata assistance Team 7 and 10 in subduing the exploding humans. Hinata collapses from overusing her Byakugan and Naruto catches her. Where she assured him that she was alright. Later on, they while discussing about how to break the genjutsu of the exploding humans, when Sasuke was brought up Sakura punched Naruto in embarrassment. Hinata went to see if he was alright.

New Era

Shortly after Naruto and Hinata got married, they have two children; the first child and only son Boruto, and then two years later they would have their second child and only daughter Himawari. And both kids are known two have inherited Minato Namikaze, their grandfather's genius. In a scene during Naruto the Last, Both Boruto and Himawari are running to their father wanting him to play with them. Hinata would come out telling them not to outside in their bare feet. The family would get into a snowball fight. Naruto warned his son that when his mother is serious, she's really strong.

Over the years, Hinata and Naruto stayed close with their childhood friends over the years, they got to know the children of their childhood friends respectively. And both of their kids grew close with Sarada.

Boruto: Naruto Next Generations

On the day of Naruto's Hokage inauguration, Hinata volunteered to pick up his Hokage haori with plans to meet him and the kids at the ceremony. However, when she arrived, she didn't find Naruto or the kids there. At home she found Naruto unconscious with his tenketsu sealed, leaving her confused about who could have done it.

One day when Boruto was acting strange claimed to have awakened the Byakugan, much to the parents' shock.

Academy Entrance Arc

One day after Boruto skipped class, the following night when Naruto came home to get a change of clothes, the two spoke. Naruto expresses his regrets about him not being a more attentive father, feeling that because of his lack of actual parenting when he was growing up made him subpar, Hinata believed that all of Boruto's actions, deep down that he understands his father's responsibilities as Hokage.

After Boruto graduated from the academy and was assigned to a team, the family at breakfast together before Boruto would have to leave for a mission and Naruto would have to leave for work.

Sarada Uchiha Arc

Hinata makes a bento box lunch for Naruto, she assigns Boruto to deliver the lunch to him but Sarada would later deliver the bento to Naruto for Boruto.

Verses Momoshiki Arc

In a flashback on Boruto's birthday, Naruto failed to show up and Hinata would receive call knowing that Naruto couldn't make it. Later Naruto would arrive home with a gift for Boruto, but Naruto he told Hinata that he didn't know on what type of video game that Boruto liked. In a few days before the Chūnin Exams Himawari's birthday was approaching during Himawari's birthday Naruto sent a Shadow Clone but passed out and the clone disappeared and the clone dropped the cake, disappointed everyone. During the Chūnin Exams in the second stage both Naruto and Hinata discovered that Boruto was cheating causing both parents to be disappointed in Boruto. During the attack Ōtsutsuki's clans attack on the village Hinata tried to go after Naruto after learning of his capture by Kinshiki and Momoshiki. Before Boruto left with Sasuke and the four Kage, Hianta tried to stop Boruto from leaving with Sasuke but stopped when she saw Boruto wearing Naruto's old jacket, being reminded of his father and deciding to believe in Boruto just as she always believes in Naruto. After rescuing Naruto, Hinata went to hug him. Later Naruto and Hinata had a late birthday for Naruto and Himawari.

Mitsuki's Disappearance Arc

In the anime, during the lockdown due to Mitsuki's seemly betrayal, Hinata and Naruto discovered that Boruto and Sarada left the village.

One-Tail Escort Arc

After the events of the battle with Urashiki Ōtsutsuki with Shukaku the One-Tail, Shukuka sealed in a tea kettle and stayed with the Uzumaki family household, Hinata finds out that Naruto was able to a day for the next day. The next day, Naruto and Hinata along with Boruto and Himawari with the sealed Shukaku went around the village being at shops and restaurants. While at a shop Hinata is seen giving Naruto a pink shirt. They later stop at Senju Park where Naruto fell asleep. Hinata stayed at Naruto's side while he slept when Boruto and Himawari went off to explore around the park.

Timeslip Arc

When Boruto and Sasuke time-traveled into the past to stop Urashiki Ōtsutsuki, past Naruto and Hinata met their future son Boruto although they didn't know it at the time. After defeating Urashiki, Sasuke used his Sharingan to erase the memories of everyone they came into contact of the recent events after erasing the memories Naruto and Hinata including Neji and Jiraiya didn't remember seeing Boruto and future Sasuke, who both would later time travel back into the present.

Hiashi's Birthday

After Boruto and Sasuke returned to the present, Naruto and Hinata along with Boruto and Himawari would attend Hiashi's birthday. Later during the party, they would take a family picture with Hiashi and Hanabi.

Kara Actuation Arc

When Boruto and Sarada were defeated by Deepa, both Naruto and Hinata were worried for Boruto as he was getting operated on but were glad to see as he was stable. It's been revealed by Hinata that her and Naruto don't argue much with each other when Hinata was having a girl's night with Sakura Uchiha and Ino Yamanaka.

Naruto Retsuden: Naruto Uzumaki and the Spiral Destiny

At some point, Naruto started suffering an unknown illness due to him having the chakra of all nine Tailed Beasts. Naruto was trying to hide this from Hinata and the children as he didn't want them to worry although Sakura wanted him to tell her. But at some point, Hinata found out about his illness, during that time she trusted Naruto and didn't confront him about it. Later Hinata let Orochimaru create a set of goggles that were able to replicate and store Hinata's Byakugan called the "Dōjutsu Glasses" which he later had given to Naruto by Orochimaru. After Naruto used the goggles, Naruto had a thought to himself where he wondered what it was like when Hinata used her Byakugan. During Orochimaru's visit in Naruto's house, Naruto and Hinata talked about Orochimaru, Naruto was shocked to hear the Hinata viewed Orochimaru as a mom friend. At some point when Naruto was learning how to use the goggles, Hinata gave him a journal that Neji had documented his experience using the Byakugan. While reading the journal both Naruto and Hinata would reminisce about Neji.

Ao Arc

Naruto and Hinata along with their friends attended the memorial service for the people who have fallen during the Fourth Shinobi World War.

Kawaki Arc

After Boruto and his team discovered a boy with a Kāma in his left palm. He was brought into the Uzumaki household after he broke Himawari's vase. He apologized and introduced himself revealing his name is Kawaki. After Team 7 and Kawaki battled Boro and rescued Naruto, after Naruto and Sasuke's defeat to Jigen, Team 7 and Kawaki brought Naruto and Sasuke back to Konoha where Naruto was placed in the Hospital. While Naruto was recovering Hinata was beside him while he was unconscious. In the anime, after Naruto and Sasuke battle with Jigen, during his time of recovery, Naruto and Hinata had breakfast with Boruto, Himawari, and Kawaki when Hinata would ask them about missing food from the refrigerator but Naruto and Boruto didn't know.

The Uzumaki Family's Hot Springs Vacation

At some point Himawari won a free trip to a hot springs Inn during a raffle, Naruto, Hinata, Boruto, Himawari, and Kawaki would travel to the Inn on a family vacation. While in the Inn they would stay the room at the Inn, relax at the hot springs, play ping-pong, and take a family photo. Later the next day they would receive the picture that was taken of them, they would later return to Konoha.

Kawaki & Himawari Academy Arc

After Kawaki completes his mission of protecting a princess named Kae Yukiwari, the next morning Himawari gets ready to go to the Academy after having breakfast. When Himawari was asked if she was gonna become a shinobi, both Naruto and Hinata were surprised as she hadn't made up her mind yet. Naruto and Hinata were happy to see on how mature Himawari is compared to Boruto.

Code's Assault Arc

After the defeat of Isshiki Ōtsutsuki, they had a welcome home dinner party for Kawaki fully adopting him.

Later that night, Naruto and Hinata were in the living room with Hinata watching a soap opera while Naruto had dozed off. Later both Naruto and Hinata would learn that Kawaki had snuck out of the house.

They later learn that Boruto went out of the house to go after Kawaki. While trying to track Boruto and Kawaki, Hinata wanted to join Naruto to help him, but he wanted her to stay with Himawari.

Omnipotence Arc

At some point, Hinata would hear about Boruto's death and resurrection, it's unknown if she learned this from Naruto or Boruto.

While trying to set up for dinner, Hinata expresses joy that Naruto is able to have dinner with them instead of sending a shadow clone but wishes that Boruto and Kawaki could join them. She asks how long their mission will be, but he responds by saying that he's not sure. Suddenly Kawaki appears and speaks of how grateful he is for them and hears how he now wishes to exterminate all Ōtsutsukis and the clan, which also included Boruto because he was also an Ōtsutsuki. When Kawaki expresses how he failed to kill Boruto and swears that he won't fail to kill him again, Naruto takes it back when Hinata slaps Kawaki calling him crazy. Both would hear of how only a crazy person could kill their brother. Kawaki doesn't mind if they hate him to death for what he's about to do and he opens up a portal and seals Naruto and Hinata away in another dimension. When he plans to keep them until he achieves his goals, Kawaki says that when he’s done, they’re free to kill him.

After learning that Naruto and Hinata suddenly disappeared and what Kawaki did from Ada's Senrigan and report, at the Hokage Rock Kawaki confirms to Boruto that Naruto and Hinata are within the Daikokuten dimension where time doesn’t flow, where they won’t age or starve to death. And Kawaki states that Boruto will never get to see them again as Kawaki plans to kill Boruto again. Later because of Kawaki's actions, he wished to switch lives with Boruto, through the usage of Ada's Omnipotence technique. With almost everyone’s memories being rewritten (except for Sarada, Sumire, Boruto, Kawaki, Ada, and Daemon), Kawaki is now seen as "Kawaki Uzumaki" the son of Naruto and Hinata who was born and raised in Konoha, and Boruto is now seen as the ungrateful outsider who was taken in by Naruto and Hinata. Kawaki decides to lie to the shinobis of Konoha stating that Boruto of killing Naruto and Hinata and Kawaki would force Ada to lie, although the truth is that Naruto and Hinata are alive and were sealed in another dimension and Boruto is the real son of Naruto and Hinata, who was born and raised in Konoha who is also innocent and was falsely accused by Kawaki for a crime he didn't commit. And Kawaki was the ungrateful outsider that Naruto and Hinata took in and is the culprit behind Naruto and Hinata's disappearance. With Naruto and Hinata in the Daikokuten dimension as long as they’re in there Kawaki views them to be safe, and with Naruto and Hinata in the Daikokuten dimension and with Konoha now against Boruto, no one will stand in Kawaki's way of killing Boruto. Kawaki plans to keep them in the dimension until Boruto/Momoshiki and Code are killed until there are no threats that can cause harm to them and plans to later release them from the Daikokuten dimension after he’s done, where he’ll welcome Naruto and Hinata to kill him.

Between Next Generations and Two Blue Vortex

After Boruto and Sasuke had left Konoha and the casting of Omnipotence, Naruto and Hinata believed to be dead and have been killed by Boruto, would be branded as a criminal as a “Hokage Killer”. Kawaki would keep the secret that Naruto and Hinata are alive and were secretly sealed in the Daikokuten dimension from everyone. Although Kawaki seen as "Kawaki Uzumaki" there were doubts that Kawaki was really the son of Naruto, but later and due to Omnipotence, any doubts about Kawaki being Naruto's son were put down due to Omnipotence completely suppressing the real memories of almost everyone in Konoha, even having them over look when there was physical proof of when showing the Uzumaki family photo that showed Boruto in the photo instead of Kawaki, people have overlooked the photo and would insist Kawaki is Naruto's son as people believed their own memories than physical evidence, which would let Kawaki be continued to be seen as "Kawaki Uzumaki". And Boruto would continue to be seen as the ungrateful outsider and a traitor to the other people of Konoha except for Sarada and Sumire who were not affected by Omnipotence. Although there were a majority of people who were affected by Omnipotence although a lot of people hated Boruto for "killing" Naruto, but Himawari although she was affected by Omnipotence, she didn't hate Boruto for "killing" her father. But she would have the desire to become strong enough to help him as she believed that there was more going on and she felt that her father was still alive somewhere. As the time passed Kawaki would make perioditic vists to them while they were sealed and were in suspended animation, floating in the Daikokuten dimension.

Boruto: Two Blue Vortex

Boruto's Return Arc

Three years after Boruto left the village, Naruto and Hinata remained sealed in the Daikokuten dimension. Kawaki would enter the Daikokuten dimension to vist Naruto and Hinata who remained floating in suspended animation in the Daikouten dimension. Later, after Code's attack on the village and Boruto's breif return to the village. Boruto would reveal to Shikamaru, Ino, through the Mind Body Transmission Technique and in front of Mitsuki that Naruto and Hinata are alive and safe.

Flashforward

During the battle with Boruto and Kawaki on the destroyed Hokage Rock in the ruins of Konoha. During Boruto and Kawaki's fight, Kawaki tells Boruto that he'll send him to the same place where he sent Naruto, implying that Naruto and Hinata are still sealed inside the Daikouten dimension.

Children

Boruto Uzumaki

Boruto is the son and first child of Naruto and Hinata. Boruto strongly resembles his father, he has blond hair like his father and has two of his nine-tailed fox whiskers as well. Boruto has the Jōgan in his right eye, which he awakened on the day he was to start at the academy when he saw Denki being possessed by a Negative Chakra, and the Kāma in the palm of his right hand. Boruto is a class clown like Naruto and does things to get attention since Naruto is always busy with Hokage duties. Unlike his father, Boruto has no desire to become Hokage and wants to be a strong ninja-like Sasuke instead. He is a Genin on Team Konohamaru along with Mitsuki and Sarada Uchiha. Boruto's name pays tribute to Neji as his name means bolt and Neji's name means screw.

Himawari Uzumaki

Himawari is the second child and only daughter of Naruto and Hinata. Himawari strongly resmbles her mother, she has dark blue hair like her mother, blue eyes and two whiskers from the nine-tailed fox like her father. Himawari has the Byakugan, which she awakened after her brother Boruto and she tore her stuffed animal and she knocked her father Naruto unconscious by accident. Himawari shows a great amount of respect towards Hinata's deceased cousin Neji, and often visits his grave with her.

Kawaki

Kawaki isn't biologically Hinata and Naruto's son, but he's taken in by Naruto who raises him as his own child, during which he develops a brotherly bond with Boruto and Himawari. He has grey eyes and bushy black hair, in which the sides are shaven and blond in color. He has a tattoo of the roman numeral IX ''9'' under his left eye and has one Kāma in the palm of his left hand and he would later an Isshiki's Dōjutsu in his left eye. At the beginning he showed remorse and anger to the Uzumakis because he thought they only ante him thanked to his Kāma, but later he regrets all this and shows a deeply respect to this family, specially to Naruto, after letting him leave in their house and treating him like one of them. But after switching lives with Boruto, Kawaki is now seen as the first-born son of Naruto and Hinata now being seen as "Kawaki Uzumaki".

Fanon

NaruHina is one of the most popular ships in the Naruto fandom and is one of the two most popular canon ships along with SasuSaku. It was popular from very early on in the series due to Hinata's crush on Naruto and the overall popularity of Hinata as a character. With the pairing becoming canon, it became even more popular, especially in Japan. However, there is still some backlash among fans of rival ships and haters of Hinata. • The scarf that Hinata gave to Naruto is based on the scarf that was given to Masashi Kishimoto by his wife.
• Kishimoto and Kishimoto's wife was the inspiration for Naruto and Hinata.
• Naruto and Hinata were originally going to have a third child to have the Byakugan since Boruto and Himawari didn't show having the Byakugan due to their blue eyes.
  • Ultimately Kishimoto did not give Naruto and Hinata a third child as he thought that would be too many complications, so instead he created "The Day Naruto Became Hokage" chapter as a way for him to make up for his mistake.
• Sometime after the Momoshiki Arc, Hinata had implied a house rule of no jutsu usage in the house. Which was done due to Naruto sending a Shadow Clone to the house during Himawari's birthday.
