Celicalm is the het ship between Alm and Celica from the Fire Emblem fandom.

Canon[]

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia[]

Celica and Alm met as children. And though they did not know it at the time, they were both the rightful rulers of Zofia and Rigel respectively. Both had been hidden away for different reasons. They bonded quickly as children, often running off to spend time with each other, leaving their other friends in Ram Village behind. When a visitor took an interest in Celica's brand, Mycen had to take her away for her safety. Alm and Celica swore that they would meet again.

Years later, Celica and Alm both set out on separate journeys. They finally reunite in Zofia Castle. Though they are glad to see each other, Alm voices his intentions to invade Rigel and stop Emperor Rudolf. However, Celica believes they can reach a peaceful solution. Due to their different views, a rift forms between them, and they part on bad terms. In the Echoes remake, they're able to make amends via long-distance magic communication, courtesy of a kindly Sage.

They eventually reunite at the top of Duma Tower, in hopes of defeating the god causing the war, Duma. Celica was tricked by Duma into believing that Alm would be safe if Celica gave herself as slave to Duma. As a result, Alm is forced to pierce Celica with his sword to reawaken her, killing her. However, Mila revives Celica, and they both work together to kill Duma. After their triumphant endeavor, they take each other's hand in marriage, and valiantly end the war by reuniting each other's nations, Zofia and Rigel, to form the common nation of Valentia.

Fire Emblem Engage[]

Both Celica and Alm appear in the most recent addition to the series, with Celica as an Emblem Ring and Alm as a Bond Ring.

In Firene, a territory that is part of Elyos, Celica's Emblem Ring is known as the "Ring of the Caring Princess" which is originally in Céline's posession. Like with other characters from Emblem Rings, Celica can go into an Engaged status, which allows its user to make use of the "Warp Ragnarok" engage attack. Celica's Emblem Ring is needed to summon Alm's Bond Ring by spending bond fragments in the Ring Chamber of the Somniel, although there is a chance to summon another character from Echoes instead of her.

Though Alm's Bond Ring doesn't have the same powers as Celica's Emblem Ring, she grants the Raging Fire skill, which makes opponents unable to counterattack if the user uses a sword to attack, meaning that he is suited for any sword user. However, only one ring per unit can be equipped, meaning that nobody can equip Celica's Emblem Ring and Alm's Bond Ring at the same time. Also, the player can't form support bonds between characters contained in rings.

Fire Emblem Heroes[]

Alm and Celica are two of the heroes that the player can summon separately via the Breidablik using orbs to help Alfonse and his sister Sharena defending their kingdom Askr from the Emblian Empire. As in Echoes: Shadows of Valentia, Alm and Celica can develop a bond via support. They can raise their level of support in the following ranks: C, B, A and S if they stand together in the gameplay. Each has their variations: the normal, the resplendent, the Gaiden-themed and the Kingdom-themed. Although Alm does not have a dark-possessed variation, like Celica.

There was a special event for both of them, named Lovely Gifts, in which Alm and Celica were depicted as lovebirds and form a single unit instead of two separated units, with the theme of Valentine's Day on February 7, 2020, alongside its featured characters, and a number of related quests, which were available until March 6.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate[]

Alm and Celica appear together with their young version of themselves in a single spirit that the player can obtain. In its corresponding Spirit Battle, Alm and Celica are represented by a couple of male and female Villagers from Animal Crossing. The player must defeat both of them to free Alm & Celica (Young) from Galeem's control.

Alm & Celica (Young) can be leveled up to Lvl. 99 before the player can evolve the spirit and make them "grow", becoming Alm & Celica in their teenage days. Equipping them in any fighter grants its user with a Back Shield.

Fanon[]

Due to it being a canon ship, Celicalm has became one of the, if not, the most commonly shipped ship of Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia. On AO3, they are the most written ship in the Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia fandom, with over 100 works written. This ship beats other popular ships like Falm, Clairalm, Celimae, and Saber/Celica in terms of works written on AO3. Currently, no other ship involving Celica or Alm has nearly as much supporters as Celicalm. On Tumblr, Celicalm is one of the most popular ships.

A common trope for post-war fics and AUs about the pair has them adopting several cats, due to both Celica and Alm's affinity for the animals that hang out by the docks.

  • On the title screen of Fire Emblem Echoes Shadow of Valentia Alm and Celica as children are playing in a flower field, once the player finished the game for the first time the title screen shows Celica and Alm as adult in the same flower field.
